Oh no retirement, very strange, seemed to be a long break at the end of the first set, and to be fair it appeared a slightly below par effort from the start, which may indicate she went into the match with a slight injury. Hopefully nothing too serious and she can use up her last tournament before the end of the season. Funnily I was just thinking today that she had remained injury free for a long time for Laura.
Was there a delay? I wasn't paying attention after the first set finished.

As Philwrig said, there was a delay between sets, but retirement seemed very quick after 1st game - I would guess its her wrist again - hope I'm wrong that took ages to heal last time.
Poor Laura, such a shame for her. She seemed to be in her 'element' on this trip East

Laura is supposed to be playing doubles in a couple of hours time - guess that won't happen now. Just wonder if the injury occured in that doubles match yesterday? just a thought......
Speculation, speculation, if the wrist had been a problem I would have thought she wouldn't have played the doubles. Sven Groeneveld posted a picture of Laura in action today on twitter and there is no obvious evidence of an injury strapped up, it might be something as minor as just feeling unwell. If the wrist had been a problem I would have thought she would have struggled to serve aces. Anyways I'm off to bed, hopefully the situation will be clearer in the morning.
Maybe Laura ran into a wall, the wall that seems to stop any of the girls quite getting into the top 200 at the mement
Seriously, I obviously hope it is nothing too serious. Not the absolute worst time of the year if it is going to be a matter of quite a number of weeks, being quite late in the year and when she just has is it one more tournament she can play.
Relief allround, makes sense to me as the stats of the match suggested a sluggish performance not those coming from an injured player. Mike Dickson clearly has a contact inside the Robbo camp. The Osaka entry is an interesting one because apparently she's not on the list. Get well soon Laura.
