Canada see themselves as favourites. Nguyen and Monette are interviewed on the ITF site and say " Tomorrow we face Great Britain in the semifinals. They are quite a young team and not expected to beat us"  Perhaps they are putting their trust in their strong number 1 Peliwo as Monette is way below Luke and Kyle's standard

'Kyle Edmund/Evan Hoyt (GBR) v Filip Peliwo/Edward Nguyen (CAN)', is listed for the doubles, brave call putting Hoyt in, also strange why Nguyen didn't play

I'm sure they will review it after the singles. It's quite likely though that Bambridge v Peliwo will be a demanding match, leaving Kyle and Evan as the freshest pair. Evan is stronger at doubles than singles and by all accounts has been playing well here.

Evan struggled to get any first serves in and was broken on the third breakpoint. Canada then held over deuce and Kyle recovered from 0-30 to win the fifth game

Kyle hit a great return at 15-40 only for Evan to miss the easy overhead. Thankfully they got the break at the 5th attempt when another fine return from Kyle set Evan up.
