How many times has Bally drawn a local WC this year? Good chance to qualify. Laura I expect to lose 2 and 2, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for something alot better. I think its only 2 qualifying rounds, with main draw starting on Sunday, 30 points for qualifying. Weather forecast wet and windy for tomorrow, ideal.
Ideal, not, for Laura, she doesn't like it blowing. So better if it does rain too and is posponed. Be a tough enough task whenever it is played.
Sevastova has been having a pretty good year and tends to consistently beat those you'ed expect her to. Since losing to Rebecca Marion in January ( then WR 178 but improved to WR 137 since ) the lowest ranked player she has lost to is Kaia Kanepi ( WR 124 in March but now WR 26 ).
Laura on her day ( and iff she had had more tournaments ) is though easily well within top 200 class. But would be quite a victory if she pulled this one off.
I guess she wouldn't have minded Bally's draw !

Sevastova's current 50 something ranking is partly due to 100 points gained for reaching the 2nd round at USO - but her first round opponent retired early in the second set.
But then Laura's rank is also partly due to her main draw win at Birmingham (also down to a retirement)
Both girls were ahead in their matches but clearly had below par opponents.
Not quite sure what my point is, but when I saw the huge gap in rank I reckoned that Sevastova would be nearer 80 something were it not for that 'win', and thus seemed slightly less of an impossibility for Laura to take on.
