Thanks Steven. Those peskey other players, why can't they just allow our players to serenely take their places in the top 200.
Ha, well it's only delayed, and next year Laura's coming and maybe Naomi B and Mel will be back. Hey, if Georgie was to manage a full year at her best... They won't know where to look for our top 200'ers
Incidentally, was just looking at the top 25 table for 52 weeks ago. WR 736 on 26 points, a certain Heather Watson
You forgot JoKo, who officially becomes British August next year ( well that better be the case ).
Interesting titbit from Heather in LTA report: "I train and hit with Sabine in Florida but this was the first time I've ever played her in a match for real and I'm just really pleased that I'm through to the next round."
QF: BROADY, Naomi (GBR) 265 v MANASIEVA, Vesna (RUS) 4 155 QF: WATSON, Heather (GBR) 216 v BIRNEROVA, Eva (CZE) 8 188
Manasieva, who reached a CH of 111 last year, is 1-3 v Brits, having beaten Cav, lost to Anne twice and, most recently, lost 3 & 2 to Laura at USO qualifying.
Birnerová, who got as high as WR 57 in 2007, has a 5-1 record against Brits but unlike Manasieva has tended to play them at 'Challenger' level. Katie was the one who beat her, in 3 sets in 2008.

Shame for Naomi, but Manasieva is a very steady player with a compact game. Reaching the QFs is a good result for her, especially her victory in the previous round, so she should be proud of her week so far and is still going with Webbers in the doubles (I think??).
