It was so windy today, much worse than at the US Open. The scoreboards kept blowing over and the plastic chairs would get blown onto the court during a point unless they were weighed down with bags. Evo could have won much easier than 6-4 6-4, he wasn't taking the match too seriously and knew he was going to win in the end. He was moaning about the weather and cracking a few jokes with Willis who was watching and at one change of ends in the 2nd set he ran to the end of the court to shout at his coach to ask him what the score was in el Menshawy's match. It was pretty hard to keep the ball in court for both players, one of Dan's serves hit the fence on the side of the court on the full.
Tutu had as much trouble with the wind as Dan's opponent. A few times his slice bounced way before the net and he was getting pretty frustrated. Short started slowly against Cox and he never gave him a chance to get back in the match. Cox just played consistenly and it wasn't too long until Short lost the point. Hewitt had a load of break points to go 4-2 up but once Milton held he picked up his level and Hewitt seemed to lose the belief that he could actually win the match.
As someone predicted earlier hard to see past the same 4 semi-finalists as last week.
hmmm doesn't exactly seem like the break has turned Evo into Lleyton Hewitt, does it?
Although at least when he was serving for the match he didn't shout to his coach "start up the kettle, i'm parched"
Really not sure evo timed his break v well, with freshers weeks starting up and down the country soon surely would have made more sense to take it now?

In all fairness there is something to be said for taking a light hearted attitude about a match where the conditions (the wind in this case) have reduced it to a bit of a farce.

Where do you think the prize money is going? That's what Evo was joking to Willis "think of all the Vodka red bulls we're gonna get". Especially as the expensive Londons freshers are first, he needed to stock up on cash
