...by qualifier Oliver Hudson. First ranking point. Who he ?
I see first ranking point too for El Menshawy, who GTC pointed to earlier. Hopefully this will help him really get going in the seniors. Unfortunately it came at Andrew Gregory's expense.

Got to say I was really hoping to see Burton push on after Wimbledon. I saw him in the juniors (on TV) and I like the look of him. Lots of passion and fight, and a good attacking game. Still he is quite young and maybe he will make top 300 or so eventually
Clearly juniors eventually develop at different rates, and sometimes go backwards before going forwards again. But I've been rather disapponted and sometimes quite surprised by some of Lewis' results this year.
Given as a March 1992 boy he's barely within the top 300 junior rankings ( JWR 296 ) he certainly will have to find a lot more to really push on in the senior ranks.
That said, he did seem to play pretty well in Eastbourne and Nottingham qualifiers on grass in the summer, beating Josh Goodall in Eastbourne. And reading back, ForeverDelayed gave a very good firsthand report on him at that time.
Certainly looks like grass and other faster surfaces will be what suits his game.

A very good performance by the Brits overall today, with Fitzy, Hewitt & Short all taking out higher-ranked overseas players to give us 12 (from 21) through to R2!

Hmm, there's no way that Evans was winning the first set yesterday after I jinxed him by saying he could go to the finals without dropping a set.
Thanks a lot to HossTheBoss and Josh for the scores. I know that you people have a nice time at the events and everything, but it's great to have people going to Futures week in and out. (Plus I have this theory that Cox normally plays better when someone from this website goes and watches him ).
