In the QFs, Mel plays (4) Rogowska, whom she beat in 3 sets at the same stage last week. Cav's opponent is yet to be decided.

Tim Henman at the Oz Open 2002 syndrome? Well I guess the fact that the top 2 seeds have been knocked out already suggests it's a pretty open field.

Good to see both of them making the QFs, and hopefully both can go even further.

Now with the top 2 seeds out that indeed would seem to open things up and give good opportunities.

If they don't manage to fully translate these opportunities, I'd hope and presume that's just through form rather than some supposed strange British characteristic
