QR2: (q8) Morgan Phillips WR 479 beat (wc) Robert Godlewski (POL) UNR by 1 & 0
FQR: (q8) Morgan Phillips WR 479 v (q4) Dennis Blömke (GER) WR 360 (CH 338 in July)
Godlewski is 26 but had a career high of 507 three years ago (he fell out of the rankings at the start of the USO) and took a set off Dan Cox and 6 games off Slabba last month, so a 1 & 0 thrashing is very impressive!
Blömke won Germany F13 last month and beat Goffin WR 264 2 & 4 in R1 in Alphen this week before going out to Schoorel WR 175 in R2, so it's going to be extremely tough for Morgan to cross the final hurdle and get into the main draw.
However, top seed Rochette is the only other seed left, so if Rochette wins and Morgan loses, he will be the first in line for a lucky loser place, not that this did him any good in Sevilla!

Rochette lost, so Morgan won't be first in line for the LL spot after all. (Which of course will probably mean a LL spot will become available and go to Rochette!).
A lucky Loser spot did open up as Dustin Brown withdrew. Morgan is now next on the list, so hopefully he gets lucky. You have Sergeyev in the draw and he retired in his match last week, so maybe it could happen.
I am assuming Dustin Brown hasn't withdrawn and it is just that when Gabashvili withdrew, Brown moved to Gabashvili's seeded position ( as no 9 seed ) and Rochette took Brown's original position in the draw.
Sorry about that, I misread it. A bit worrying really as I was preparing my spreadsheet for my challenger gambling, so dont really want to be making too many errors like that! Thank you for clearing it up.
