Just to confirm the result:

L16: (5) David Rice WR 491 beat Roman Recarte (VEN) WR 858 by 4-6 6-3 7-5 smile.gif

QF: (5) David Rice WR 491 v (WC) Tigre Hank (MEX) WR 1047

Rice, currently GB no. 12, was already assured of making a new CH and being in the GB top 10 by the end of the USO after last week's win but if he wins tomorrow and Smethurst loses to Lemke in Middelburg, he's likely to be GB no. 8 on Monday week.

QF: (5)David Rice (GBR) d. (WC)Tigre Hank (MEX) 6-2 6-2

David plays qualifier Tyler Hochwalt (USA) who's now taken out both the 3rd & 6th seeds.

Friday 3rd September saw Andy Murray win his 2nd round match at the US Open, Both Ricey and Dan Smethurst win their futures quarters whilst James Ward won his futures semi. 4 wins out of 4 for the British mens singles. As modest as that achievement may be, we don't get many days like this and, I suspect it'll be a while before we get one again cry.gif

Great, I was hoping he'd complete the 100% record for Friday smile.gif - he's also mde it 8 wins in a row for himself!

Hochwalt was the guy Sean Thornley beat 7-5 in the 3rd in R1 last week!

According to his management company, it's back to back Finals for David smile.gif

SF: (5) David Rice WR 491 beat (Q) Tyler Hochwalt (USA) WR 1767 by smile.gif

FI: (5) David Rice WR 491 v (1) Vasek Pospisil (CAN) WR 331 (CH 293) or (4) Bruno Rodriguez (MEX) WR 430 (CH 364)

Both CHs were reached earlier this year. Pospisil lost to Max Jones in Futures qualifying in Mexico last year but is 5-0 v Brits since, including Willis, Pauffley and Illingworth. Rodriguez beat Morgan Phillips in 3 sets in Spain last year and is 1-6 v Brits overall, the 1 being a retirement against Evo in 2008.

Josh Goodall, Dan Cox and then Josh Milton each made back to back futures finals recently. Maybe its because of that but I almost "expect" Ricey to do the same!

Glad he lived up to my lofty expectations!

Doctor, No !  no.gif

Still been a very encouraging couple of weeks and a very tidy gathering of points, which will take him to a CH ranking in the next set of rankings on Monday week, though he has 18 points to come off in the following couple of weeks. Hopefully he can carry this form on into the last few months of the year.
