Unfortunately he hasn't been 100% since the food poisoning in Spain.    Hopefully he can turn the corner soon.

Hi ScotDownUnder. smile I'm guessing you're Andrew's father.  Is that right?  Is that you and Andrew in your profile pic?  Can you give us any more insight into his decision to turn Brit?

Wishing him the best of luck.  He's obviously having a tough time of it at the moment.

Just to add that I think it's really great when players' connections can be bothered to post on here, whether openly, anonymously (e.g. by pming one of us) or somewhere in between! We have so little information to go on much of the time that we are bound to jump to conclusions that aren't necessarily correct, and a bit of input from those who really know makes such a difference.

It was clearly a very bad bout of food poisoining if he's still feeling the effects, but then I got the impression at the time that it was and even if it just takes a few % off your energy a few weeks down the line, players tend to be evenly matched enough at this level that it can be more than enough to make the difference. Either way, it's a horrible thing to happen after you've just taken a big step like this and are probably very keen to make a good first impression.

Looking on the bright side, when he does get his first win as a Brit, it's going to get even more noticed and celebrated now after these first few setbacks! smile.gif

Talking of Andrew (as we were), Ryan Harrison, who has just beaten Ljubo to reach R2 of the USO, lost to Andrew 6-2 4-6 6-4 in the Traralgon Junior International just 2 years ago!
