Quick update on boggo, he's still recovering but not yet at 100%. ground strokes seems ok but still not fully comfortable on serve. i have a feeling he may skip Mons to try and make sure he is 100% for Rennes the following week.
Obviously he's got a lot of points to defend so unless he finds a burst of form looks like it may not be a happy end to the year, although i get the impression he is focused on 2011 now more than anything.

I checked the Clermont Ferrand qualifying draw because EWS and Amanda Elliott were supposed to be playing there but it turned out that they both withdrew on Friday.
I couldn't help noticing though that top seed Annalisa Bona (quite a name in itself) will play the winner of a match between 18-year-old Victoire Mfoumouangana and her 17-year-old sister Gloire Mfoumouangana. Will Gloire get the victory or will Victoire get the glory?
Scary as their parents must surely be, I do hope they become a successful doubles team so that one day we get to hear an umpire saying "game, set and match Mfoumouangana Mfoumouangana"

Does anyone know if the USA $50K (Hard) that Johanna Konta is playing in is in Kansas City? I just wondered is all coz I live near the club and just heard that there was a women's tourney out there next week.

Not sure but from memory it's at Plaza Tennis Center, 4747 JC Nichols Parkway, Kansas City, MO, 64112, USA
Really.....my son has played (& thrown up) on the show courts there.....he played a final there, tossed his cookies, played on and won....I know exactly where that is....maybe I can get down there and cover one of Johanna's matches, pictures and a write up.....sweet.....
Matthew got to a final at the weekend in 9 and unders event. His S/F opponent stormed off the court after Matt beat him and I took great delight in calling him back and telling him he had left his top on the court!!
He is doing good.....he plays a ton of footie and so that gets in the way a little....I think a little later he will have to choose.....but he had a great Summer....I don't get him in the most expensive tourneys and so he has only made the top 30 in the section (5 States, IA, KS, MO, NE & OK) at 10s but has beaten 5 of the top 10. Although, he is going to turn 11 next week and so will now will lose his ranking. He is ranked just outside the top 100 in the section at 12s....my biggest problem is how expensive tennis is, but he is doing well thanks.
Marcus has not had many experiences like Matthew did in that SF....sometimes they shake hands and if it was close the loser does cry....but the last time it happened it happened to Marcus after he lost a final having been two points away....it was tough....he held it together, congratulated his opponent, collected his trophy and then started to cry a little as we walked out to the car....it is rough...he had not done that in a year or so.....what can I say....it is hard....but I would prefer that to him not caring....last time he did it was after a soccer game so as I say....competitive I guess....he was taken apart in a 14s match and was working so hard not to get double bagelled....I thought that was great!!!!
