Decent shot at his 2nd title of the year. What will this take his ranking up to ?
Wow, well done Slabba!
Today's win will take him up to 58 points as at the end of the USO - the only player on 58 points at the moment is WR 500, so hopefully Alex will be top 500 again with nothing to defend until 1 November.

SF: (5/Q) Alex Slabinsky WR 548 def (Q) Robert Godlewski (POL) WR 1534 (CH 507 in 2006) 6-4 6-2
F:(5/Q) Alex Slabinsky WR 548 v (6) Marcin Gawron (POL) WR 490 (CH 275 in 2009)
A very stiff ask this - Gawron has reached finals in 3 of his last 4 events
Yes, Gawron has won 15 of his last 17 matches, but when they met in Adana (TUR) in April, Slabba won 2-6 6-2 6-3!
Coincidentally, they are both over 200 places of their career highs as well - Slabba is WR 548 with a CH of 266 in 2008 and Gawron is WR 490 with a CH of 275 in 2009.

Slabba's clay game has always been quite strong - he grew up training on clay at sutton. He's got the big weapons from the back of the court and moves well on the surface.
Some of the indoor tournaments can be a bit of a lottery cause there are so many guys out there with huge serves so often it's better to head for the clay to pick up points
