Great result for Fitzy and that looks a really good performance by EWS so is worth a clap too.

Anne and Anna play each other in the QFs.

Really thought Heather would go far in this after seeing her play so well in the final at Wrexham. I wonder if she played indoors today, as Anne did? I know she's not so keen on that, but she didn't say - or use it an excuse anyway - her tweet said something about her 'Groundies being pants' - such self effacement is very endearing I find. Heather always gets high points for attitude (in my book)

Surprising loss for Heather, but a great win for Anna F, something which I could see coming.
Naomi still to find her best form, but a decent effort from Emily. Emily much prefers to play the higher ranked players as she can play loose and doesn't have the pressure of being expected to win.

Very good week for Anna and that's a pretty good scoreline vs Anne.  Now Anne will clearly be wanting to go all the way to the title to make full worth of this drop down in level.

That's good to hear, although I thought Anne was maybe staying on a few days longer to discuss how she may become an Estonian cultural attache to promote Estonia and its values to the wider world   wink.gif

From Anne's twitter:

"My hip gave way half way thru the first set. Wasn't comfortable moving and landing on my serve and was just getting worse so I retired cry.gifcry

Let's hope the hip problem resolves itself quickly

Oh no.   First of course Anne would have really wanted ( indeed almost needed ) the full 50 points to take real value of dropping down to 25K.  Then with just 2 weeks till the US Open indeed hope the hip issue will resolve itself quickly and that she has avoided any possible real damage by retiring.

Shame. Time to turn her focus to the big one though, she aint playing before the US is she? Rely could do with enough points to break top 100
