RE: Week 32 - Challenger ($50k) - Binghamton, USA

Plenty of chances in there but Richard loses 6-7(8) 4-6

Unfortunately Bloomers went on to lose 7-6(8), 6-4 despite leading 4-2 in that second set. He managed to break serve 3 times in the match which usually would have pointed to a Bloomers win so a shame that his serve failed him a bit today

How did he manage that?
cry

The tie-breaker was really close and then he went 4-1 up in the 2nd set so I thought he looked set to take that and really go for it in the 3rd.
Instead he lost 5 games on the trot and the match.
He got 65% first serves in; 2nd serves in seemed low but otherwise his stats are on a par with Feeney.

There were only 7 points in it ..... sheesh.
confuse

Oh dear, when I saw he was 4-2 up, I thought I'd go and do something else and come back for the 3rd set ... not Richard's best day this summer cry.gif

It was worse than that. He was 4-1 40-0 up on Fenney's serve. Such a collapse, with Richards experience, maybe a slight injury?

An injury unlikely as Richard played later on and won in doubles qualies. Final round tomorrow for a place in the main draw.

Having just missed out in Toronto, Flemski come to Binghamton as top seeds.

L16: FLEMING, Colin / SKUPSKI, Ken [1] v DEHEART, Ryler / FRUTTERO, John Paul
L16: HUEY, Treat Conrad / INGLOT, Dominic v NISHIKORI, Kei / SOEDA, Go

Bloomers is in the doubles FQR, and if he (and his partner) get through, they'll face the second seeds.
