R32: James Ward WR 283 v (1) Brian Dabul (ARG) WR 91

Ouch! bleh Although on the upside Ward does lead the H2H 1-0 after beating the Argentine in the R32 of the Savannah Challenger this year on clay by 3 & 1. Here is hoping for a 5th top 100 scalp this year for James!

Given that James did beat him on clay and I believe that's the Argentine's favourite surface, I'm hoping for another T100 scalp at the Dabul!

Steven that was terrible, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

I for one am above such atrocious puns, and only hope that James can take Dabul by the horns in his first round match.

Noam Okun has withdrawn from the main draw, so there are 5 spots available for the qualifiers.

According to his ATP profile, Feeney describes himself as a serve-volleyer so a bit surprising to see 2 breaks each in this set

Bloomers only winning 71% on 1st serve and 38% on 2nd serve ... and his opponent is doing even worse!

Oh nooooooooooo Feeney takes it 10-8

I can only think the wind must be lethal there at the moment.

Bloomers loses the first set 7-6(8). Worth noting that Feeney had been out from June last year to April this year with presumably an injury of some description and prior to that was a top 300-400 player so no real surprise it is as close as it is now as obviously the Aussie is quite under-ranked.

Thanks, I was going to look that up because I thought I recognised the name as someone who'd been ranked higher in the past. Still a match Richard should be winning though, of course.

Just checked the weather there - wind only 7 mph, so I wonder what's making two serve-volleyers do quite so badly on serve ...
