Week 32 - Challenger - ($100,000 +H) - Istanbul (Hard)

Chris Eaton turns up in qualifying here and plays Andreas Siljeström in the 1st round.

If he wins that he will play 1st seed Filip Prpic WR 311. Other seed in his section is 5th seed Juun Mitsuhashi WR 440.

Will do exceedingly well to qualify from that

Edited to reflect the fact that the tournament will be played during Week 32 & also that it's a "+H"! wink

There's still interest in Turkey, in the form of doubles action, although this seems to be a tough draw

L16: DELGADO, Jamie / MARRAY, Jonathan v [4] GICQUEL, Marc / MAHUT, Nicolas

Mahut retired from his singles match, so might not be so tough after all.

Tough draw it may have been, but the boys pulled it off:

(4)  Marc Gicquel & Nicolas Mahut (FRA/FRA) lost to Jamie Delgado & Jonny Marray by 6-7(2) 5-7 biggrin

B Battistone & Siljeström (USA/SWE) or Desein & C Rochus (BEL/BEL) in the QF.

No surprise there.  If they get past those two, they'll face the unseeded Mikhail Kukushkin & Adrian Ungur (KAZ/ROU) in the semi.  A sporting chance of a place in the final, I'd've thought (says she, cautiously... pray.gif )

IF they are fortunate to take the title here, and that's a big ask, they'd both go top 100.

B*gger!  They lost by 3 & 4! bleh That said, Battistone & Siljeström are clearly useful doubles players in combination with different partners... hmm
