SF: (WC) Neal Skupski UNR lost to (4) Vishnu Vardhan (IND) WR 448 by (tba) SF: Josh Milton WR 745 beat (5) Karan Rastogi (IND) by 0 & 5
FI: Josh Milton WR 745 (CH 503, Sep 2009) v (4) Vishnu Vardhan (IND) WR 448 (CH 355, May 2010)
The H2H is 1-0 to Josh, because he beat Vardhan 3 & 4 in the QFs last week!
Like Coxy before him, by Monday week, Josh will have regained all of his near-200 place drop and more, and if he can beat Vardhan again, he would break the unmentionable barrier (not that it's been such a problem in the last year or so) and reach a new career high, which would be quite a story after that big drop just a couple of weeks ago!

What would be great in the coming months is if Dan or Josh ( or both ! ) could really push on. I am sure there have been quite a lot of players that we have all felt at times after a good week or two have real promise of much higher things then to seemingly go back into some sort of hibernation.
Just a couple of weeks after dropping nearly 200 places, Josh should have a new career high when the points are added.
Yes, it really is a great recovery - at least as good as Dan Cox's, given that Josh has done RU/WIN in 15Ks to Dan's WIN/WIN in 10Ks, though there's not really a comparison to be made, I'm just happy for both of them.
Josh has got a point to come off next week, but that'll still leave him with 61 points, and currently 61 points from lots of tournaments is what Dan has, and he's at WR 492, so it's going to take a freakish combination of moves to deny Josh a top 500 place and a new CH (his current CH is 503) on 16 Aug, just 3 weeks after that big drop.
Had Josh managed to pick up these points before his title from last year dropped off, he'd be on the verge of the top 400.
I just hope at least one of them (preferably both) can build on this - it would be so sad if they were still around the same level in 11 months time and just about to drop 200 places again. If they can build on this and move up significantly, they'll drop a lot less places when those points come off next year.

Milton plans some clay court futures in Austria over the next few weeks IIRC so you'd hope he might sneak a seeding in the main draws and make some QFs and semis @ least to keep the rise going

When the points drop off????? They will of course defend them.......if not better them
