btw i had no idea inglot''s ranking was in the 130's for doubles, i thought it was 400's

Shows the massive impact winning a couple of rounds at a GS will do!

Fantastic day and Cook is certainly beatable in QF.

Good mental strength from all the Doubles players but Flemski need a couple of big tournies soon.

Wimbledon had a big effect, yes, at the time pushing Inglot up from 204 to 145.

But he had already been steadily rising with a string of good future and then challenger performances, mostly in the company of Chris Eaton ( currently ranked 160 ), and would be within the top 200 even without his Wimbledon points.  Wimbledon was certainly though the icing on his last year  smile

lets not get too carried away. Donald Young is the current world number 100 with 534 points. At the start of this week james ward was wr 283, with 154 points.
Ward has certainly been showing form that suggests that he is able to mix it in the top 100, however what he really needs is to start going regularly beyond the QF stage of challengers, where bigger points scores become a reality.
Hopefully he can continue this form and steadily climb the rankings.
Dare i say, wouldn't it be marvelous to have another top 100 player.

A new top 100 knock out for Wardy wink

That makes it 4 top 100 players he's beaten this year, compared to the 1 in '09

What was Boggo's best for beating top 100 players in a year? Or any of the other brits, not including AM, TH, GR?

Vancouver's certainly proving to be quite a happy hunting ground so far for most of the Brits who signed in this year! biggrin  Well done to James, Dom & Flemski.

heres Boggo's list (i know its in my sig):

Gambill, Johansson, Baghdatis, Seppi, Sluiter, Schuettler, Delic, HT Lee, Zverev, Kunitsyn, Reynolds, Minar, O Rochus, Ram

i doubt there were 4 there in 1 year to be honest.

Here's the Count's list with years and locations (Nottingham seems to be a bit of a fav!) added:

2003 (1) Gambill 42 (Nottingham ATP)
2004 (1) J Johansson 45 (Nottingham ATP)
2005 (1) Baghdatis 74 (Nottingham Ch)
2006 (2) Seppi 53 (Bergamo Ch), Sluiter 87 (Mons Ch)
2007 (4) Schuettler 95 (Wroclaw Ch), Delic 96 (Sydney ATP Q), Delic 90 (Indian Wells ATP Q), HT Lee 47 (Queen's ATP)
2008 (2) Zverev 81 (Surbiton Ch), Kunitsyn 78 (Nottingham ATP Q)
2009 (3) Reynolds 93 (Rhodes Ch), Minar 77 (Eastbourne ATP), O Rochus 81 (Kolding Ch)
2010 (1) Ram 89 (Nottingham Ch)

So Alex did get 4 top 100 scalps in 2007, but they weren't 4 different players.

I've just added in the rankings of Boggo's opponents at the time, having realised they're easy to get of his activity list on the ATP site. It looks like the rankings there are their rankings on the Monday of the main draw, but whether you use that ranking or the previous week's ranking for wins in qualifying, it turns out that Delic was in the top 100 both times that Alex beat him in 2007, so he did get 4 wins against top 100 players that year.

I'll second that. Doubt I'll be awake for the doubles, though, if daisy's timings are correct.wink
