Hardly a bad result but dissappointing in the circumstances.

I ended up being too busy to get back in here for more like an hour and 20 minutes - sad (but not that surprised) that Mertens won the 3rd fairly easily after being let back into the match like that. As with Boggo yesterday, what a missed chance cry.gif

Still, I guess if we'd been offered the option of Eaton breaking Groth's streak and qualifying but going out in R1, we'd probably have taken it! smile.gif

Eaton, on the other hand, no doubt doesn't care a **** who he beat in the FQR and much more wishes he'd beaten Mertens, particularly when he had such really good chances    cry

True, but I really meant we'd probably have taken him qualifying, beating Groth to do it was just a bonus.

I was particularly impressed by the way he kept his head to win Cincy BOTB a couple of years ago ...

Delgo & Jonny aren't doing too badly at the moment.  They lead by a break:  5-3*, but then, I thought I saw Chris & Daniel about to serve for the first set in their match when I glanced at the LS.  The next time I checked, they'd been & gone & lost it by 5-7! hmm
