So Steven we should all pile on our hard earned cash with the bookies once we have known the result of the first set this week.
Anne desperately needed this win, against a tricky opponent. The stat that gives me the most heart is the number of aces served in the third set. Hopefully she's found something with her serve, which when clicking makes her competitive at this level. Great result.
Typical Bally match, found enough to win a match after struggling early on, which on paper she should have won reasonably comfortably. Form shown in the final set should put her in the right frame of mind to take on Na Li who has found Bally a tricky opponent in the past.

Not quite - there were a few straight sets wins that this doesn't apply to. Having said that, what you'd have lost on the straight sets losers, you'd have more than made up from all of the first sets losers who turned into 3 set winners on my list.

Very good recovery from Anne in a match she was second favourite to win. Tomorrow Bally opens proceedings on Centre (probably not streamed) at 10am BST. Anna and Anne play (against Wozniacki and Ejdesgaard) not before 7pm, and that may well be streamed. Anne's singles will be on Thursday
Very encouraging win from Anne after an unpromising start. That's certainly one of Anne's best wins in the last few months and it would be great if she could get consistently back to her best
Good too to see Bally eeking out a win when clearly far from her best.
