RE: Week 30 - ITF ($10k) - Chiswick, GBR - Hard

Joss picked up a minor back problem playing county tennis straight after Woking so wasn't at her best for Wrexham. Would fancy her strongly to make the final. Tara has a much tougher task against Patterson who also played well last week, but I have every faith that a resurgent Tara can make it an all GB final.

Great from Tara not so good from Joss, this Irish girl has really stepped it up this week. Heavily fancy Tara to take the title.

Well done Tara, as soon as she believes herself more, for sure she will get her ranking up.

Elated for Tara. Probably my favourite of the up'n'comers. A title here would be a real boost for the year.

Tara seems to have been on the senior scene for a while now, though she's still strictly speaking a junior. Younger than Heather, I believe.

Would love to see her track her contemporaries up into the business end up the rankings.

Fantatic! Way to go Tara. Clearly a force at this level. Now for some $25k titles.

As someone who has publicly doubted Tara on this site, may I just extend my congratulations. Another good step forward and definitely a sign that she is starting to be able to control her power game.

More of the same in the future please and I could not be more happier to be wrong if Tara enjoys further success in the higher reaches of the ladies game. Good work Tara.

Tara is definitely on the up. I really hope she gives her tennis 100% commitment, as she without doubt has the talent to be a top100 player. Top 350 by the end of the year would be a great start.

Yeah her natural shot making is brilliant. Her run in juniors shows that shes up there with the best of her age group and its fantastic to see this translate into seniors.

Where is she up next do we know?

Well done Tara.

When all the points are added in in a week or so, should see her back in the top 500.

Great to see such a talent as Tara beginning to clearly flourish again after various problems over the last year or so.

To be into the top 500 while still just 16 showed the talent and she very clearly compared well to her agegroup then.  Now as Happycynic says she will certainly be going back into the top 500 and very possibly to a new career high in about the mid 470s.

Hopefully both Tara herself and her advisers and authorities are now much more on the same wavelength, or getting there, so that she, with the help of others, can now build on these recent weeks.

She is still a few days short of her 18th birthday so although maybe some time has been lost in her development, she is still pretty young and in good position now to move onwards andupwards.

Think it's worth a word too about the Irish finalist, Amy Bowtell, still just 16 ( born 16/09/93 ) ranked 247 in the junior rankings.  As far as I can see this was her first senior tournament, not a bad start !   Certainly a name we may see more of in the future.

At least nine of our girls including Tara are entered for the $25K in Tallinn, Estonia on 9th August.
