Bit of a pity that Lisa and Tara are in the same quarter, especially for Tara if they meet again and, as I'd suspect, Lisa comes out on top again.
Anyway, should have top half finalist. I was a bit surprised Phil favoured a bottom half finalist too, looking at the draw and considering in particular Joss and Anna's chances there. So was interesting to hear Phil's further thoughts. Anyway he's seen quite a number of these players quite close in action recently, so be interestiing to see how it shakes out.

I've been taking some positive pills recently. I'll also stick my neck out and say that Tara reverses last week loss against Lisa assuming they both reach the QFs.

Well I'm now struggling with my GB player from the bottom of the draw now. She's clearly useful the French girl but Anna that is still very disappointing. My one question mark about Anna is her mentality, and how much she really wants it because she's got the game. Jade also very disappointing and Tara should have won more comfortably to give me more confidence she can replicate her level of play from last week.
Unranked qualifier Hannah James upset no. 6 seed Emelyn Starr (AUS) 4 & 0 - an astonishing result! (something must surely have been up with Starr, but even so ...)
Another unranked qualifier Elisha Hande took the 1st set off no. 2 seed Isabella Holland (AUS) too but the Aussie then woke up and won 2-6 6-0 6-2.
Still no results shown for Lisa or Daneika v Yasmin.

Hannah James will now have a ranking too, 3 out of the 4 players with two wins managed to get a third. I think that means we now have 35 women with a WR (although I'm sure someone will correct me if I miscounted!).

I nearly had the nerve to nominate that as a potential upset, but thought better of it, yes Starr probably not at her best, but Hannah was a decent junior and has shown promise in her last couple of tournaments so not a huge upset. Maybe she can reach the final from the bottom half.
R1: WHYBOURN, Lisa (GBR) 1 307 lost to EJDESGAARD, Malou (DEN) 789 6-1 6-7(3) 5-7
Hannah should now get a ranking and Stephanie and Holly should regain their rankings.
I felt this was a banana skin, and they had a tough battle last year at Sunderland which I witnessed. Lisa just won that day with a bad shoulder, but the Danish girl played well at Woking and so had a shout in this match. Not been a good day for team GB apart of course from Hannah.
Shame for Daneika, not able to sustain her form from last week, but their match last week could have gone either way, and with Yasmin gradually finding her feet back playing fulltime again a reversal of the result was always a possibility.
