Excellent stuff from our top two women today! smile.gif

Katie has dropped just 11 games in three matches.

Katie really seems to have found her natural level again i.e a regular winner at this sort of tournament. She can win these sort of matches without playing outside her own comfort level, staying consistent and not committing too many unforced errors.
At WTA level she is forced into playing a style which is just too aggressive and which leads to her committing too many UEs.
I am happy in a way but still a little disappointed that Katie can't find that small extra % in her game to be competitive at a higher level.

Hmm yeah I'd have to agree. It would seem that the best way forward for Katie at the moment is to intersperse 25Ks/ 50Ks with tour events. Hopefully she will slowly find her way at tour level, and be able to stop playing ITF events for the most part...

Good stuff Katie - Though the final will be very tough against an in form player who won a $25k last week.

ON a positive note however Katie does lead the H2H 2-0 with wins at Sunderland 2006 and Barnstaple 2008

I'd like to see Katie in playing in better company before being sure she was baaaaaaack  smile

However, she has seemed to deal very competently with her matches this week, which has not always been the case with lower ranked opponents in the past few momths.  So that is encouraging.

The final here should be a much stiffer test and give us more indication where she is at, though I'd still like to see say her next couple of tournaments.
