To be fair scores as expected: Naomi is in a slump and the girl Mandy was playing is underranked.

Hmm I wouldn't say Naomi is in a slump, she reached the QF of Wrexham last week and has faced some tough opposition recently. Granted her year hasn't been as impressive as the end of last year, but maybe she is just finding her level and consistency.

Glad to see Katie putting last week's result behind her and getting a comfortable looking win. Also good to see Anna battling to get the win. As you said Phil, Amanda's opponent is very much underranked so not a massive shock. I'm glad to see Amanda regularly qualifying for 25Ks and getting some wins here and there. It is very much reminiscent of how she was at 10K level, going for regularly qualifying to reaching QFs and SFs to winning titles last year... hopefully she can continue to slowly progress on.

I could change it to mini-slump but if you analyse closely Naomi's performances since the beginning of May she has lost matches she was winning earlier in the year, been less competitive against higher ranked opponents, and struggled to beat much lower ranked players. I thought Naomi would be top 200 by the end of the year, but now just maintaining her current ranking would be a decent effort.

Good to see another very comfortable win for Katie and a battling win for Anna  smile

That R2 win in itself should hopefully take Anna to a new CH in Monday week's rankings.
