22-y-o Mecir is the son of the former world no. 8 of the same name who reach the Finals of the AO & USO and semis at the other two slams.

He is 7-2 v Brits (the losses were to Meatball and Marray) and on a 5-match Brit-bashing streak, which includes a 2 & 1 win against Milton in Campden Hill 2 years ago. They have also played together in doubles at an event in Sweden.

Last week, Mecir went out to Falgheri in the Dublin semis before Dan Cox beat the Italian in the Final.

Nothing to do with nights out, this could be seen coming a mlle off - and it's twice as many games as Josh got the last time they played. A good week for Josh anyway.
