Dan Smethurst seems to have come home for the week instead of staying in Italy and is the 'ringer' in the draw, though given their respective form, it'll be interesting if he plays George Morgan in the FQR.
I'm not sure if the overall increase in strength of the Q draw relative to recent 10Ks is due to this being a 15K or it being in London - probably a bit of both with other factors thrown in too.

Matt Illingworth being the top seed in qualifying out of those who originally entered means that Willis and Feaver probably got the last DA places.
Unless Dan Cox wants a rest, he must have got a WC - or maybe an SE, not sure that's possible under the circs and it doesn't seem worth checking the rules.
Tim Bradshaw (who will be in the GB top 25 on Monday) looks to have got one of the remaining WCs.
The other ranked Brits on the original entry list who aren't in qualifying are Edward Corrie and James Marsalek, so it's anyone's guess who the other WCs have gone to.

Be still by beating heart, this is about a 500metre abseil across the bushes from my allotment !
Such a stuck up venue I can't imagine spectators will be welcome..
Out of interest, Armchair, have you seen any advertising for this, which will be a combined men's future ( 15K ) and women's 10K ?
I get the impression that the LTA and relevant clubs hardly go out of their way to promote events to the public eg. the Women's 25K in Wrexham, ending today, which from accounts contained some good, interesting matches. Just interested to hear what info is about locally in this case.
There are a few tennis/kids coaching clubs nearby, it may have been promoted there.
But Riverside is a VERY expensive health club - people arrive by helicopter - why ?
I don't imagine they would want people turning up ad hoc. I don't even know if you could get in without being a member. Maybe someone else knows more and can advise.
Seems similar to the tournament at Woking or Ottershaw. Very elite club with a load of golf courses and big houses and then a few tennis courts squashed in the back corner. Most of the people watching were on their way to play themselves and were only stopping to watch in passing. The only advertising I've ever seen anywhere for a low level tournament was a banner advertising 'International tennis' in Frinton and looked like it had been decided by the club rather than the LTA.
Chances are it will be free - though probably wise to E-mail/phone beforehand as there will not be a raging crowd. In Manchester the receptionist barely seemed to know an event was going on let alone the public
Looking at the OOP for tomorrow we have the following FQR matches
(4) Bayet (FRA) v (13) Rousset (FRA) Botti (ITA) v Sharan (IND) (1) Smethurst v Chaudry (11) Priddle v Escoffier (FRA) Bains v (15) Pritchard (6) Waite (GER) v (12) Musialek (FRA) Skupski v O'Leary (5) Thurner (GER) v (10) Glancy (IRL)

I would have thought that as an international Tennis tournament they would be required to allow members of the public in.

Not a good day for the young Georges or for Illingworth, but a very good day for Chaudry, Miaow, Skupski and O'Leary.
Hope Fitzy is ok and the reason for retirement wasn't something that's going to keep him out for a while, same goes for Whiteford.

i've been to riverside a few times, its pretty nice inside, but then at an annual memebership of a couple of grand it should be!
i dont really remember seeing many places where you could view the indoor courts from, unless they have put up some kind of grandstand. if anyone is thinking of going to view it would be best to call in advance i reckon. i'm not sure how they'd keep pulbic spectaors out of the rest of the club facilities.

I don't think that means free only to members, but if it does and someone wants to go along, you can get a trial 1-day membership at http://www.esporta.com/free_day_pass.asp
