Strange match especially the TB which Igor donated to James with DF, then in the TB they were winning points off most of the opponents serves. I thought James had blown it when he let slip 3 match points at 5-4 but he got the result in the end.
All three Brit matches ended up as rankings upsets!
QR1: Jamie Baker WR 246 beat Santiago Gonzalez (MEX) WR 198 by 4-6 6-1 7-5 (H2H now 2-0) QR1: (q7) Alex Bogdanovic WR 176 lost to Nick Lindahl (AUS) WR 244 by 5 & 5 (H2H now 1-1) QR1: James Ward WR 287 beat (q4) Igor Kunitsyn (RUS) WR 114 by 6-4 7-6(5)
QR2: Jamie Baker WR 246 v Nick Lindahl (AUS) WR 244 (CH 187 in May) - on S5 @ 20.00 BST
H2H: 0-1, a 2 & 1 thrashing at the Valencia USA Challenger in 2007.
QR2: James Ward WR 287 v Noam Okun (ISR) WR 261 (CH 95 in 2002) - follows Jamie's match on the same court
H2H: 2-0 to James, both very convincing - a 2 & 4 win on Okun's home ground at the Ramat Hasharon Challenger in 2008 and a 2 & 3 win in the Chennai FQR (funnily enough, this was the match after Wardy's first win against Ilhan) this year.

Hmm. 2 out of 3 pretty good, but would have been expecting one to have been Boggo.
See loads of BPs and indeed breaks. I know conditions were mentioned but I'm thinking that it's probably not exactly the fastest of hard courts, which is probably fine for Jamie and James.
Anyway, points start with winning the next match and they've both got a chance, James I'd say more than Jamie particularly on their recent form. Would be really good to see Jamie making progress here and further since he could certainly do with picking up points ( and more confidence ) at this time.

Great wins for Baker and Ward and they continue the good form they showed in the Davis Cup, and have winnable second round matches here.
But a big disappointment for Boggo to lose, especially in the way that the match looked to have gone, and he hasn't been in the best of form for a while it looks and needs to do something before the points of his good run last summer come off.
The attempt to play ATP qualies doesn't look to have paid off and if he had stuck to the challengers he may have got more ranking points, but I suppose Boggo is at a point in his career where he wants to be trying to get into the bigger events.
