RE: Week 30 Futures - Spain F27 ($10k) - Dénia - Clay

L16: (3) Morgan Phillips WR 444 beat (PR) David Diaz-Ventura (ESP) WR 1226 by 6-4 7-6(6) smile.gif

DDV hasn't had much success since coming back from injury in February but was top 400 in 2008 so is no mug.

QF: (3) Morgan Phillips WR 444 v Marcelo Palacios-Siegenthale WR 602

H2H: 2-0 (2006 and 2009), including three breadsticks in the four sets.

Just a footnote to this event - Carreño Busta lost to López Jaén in 3 sets in the Final. The only other player who managed to take a set off the eventual champion this week was new Brit Andrew Gregory in R1.
