RE: Youth Olympics, Singapore: August 14-26

happy to hear that's why to loss of 11 games was down to, but still gutted. in the back of my mind, i think he really believed he was going to get gold, and i was starting to believe it myself. Still, i now think in juniors on hard there are no matches i would kind of think he wouldn't win

BTW, how are Oli and Tom friends? Seems strange in a way!

I'm not sure rooming together at the Youth Olympics necessarily means they are friends. They possibly just decided to put the two best known male Brits at the event together?

Pinkdog i thought is the guy who runs his website, Olly mentioned at Wimbledon that his pink dog mascot belongs to the guy who runs the website, so not a family member...but from Pinkdog's posts id probably say it was his mum

and 200km/h serves for a 16 year old!!! i hope that speed gun wasn't off (who remembers the DC speed gun which said Dan Evans was serving at 130mph?!?!)

He has a big serve. He served the fastest serve in the boys' tournament at Wimbledon at 128 mph, which is 206 kmph.

it's odd because he doesn't necessarily hit that many aces compared to other juniors, i had assumed that Morgan and Burton had bigger serves...oh well it's good to hear he's got a big weapon like that

Assuming they go on to win, I think the combined anthem will have lyrics something like this. Altogether now...

Where is my home, where is my home, God save our gracious home

Water roars across our noble Queen in the meadow

Send her victorious among crags,

The garden is happy and glorious with spring blossom,

Paradise on earth it is to see.

And long reign over this beautiful land,

God save the Czech land, my home, and the Queen

Brilliant ... I spent a few seconds thinking about how they could be merged yesterday, but didn't come up with anything near as good as that! smile.gif

"Just had an amazin dance in the middle of centre in the rain to entertain the people hahaha !!!!!!"

He's bonkers smile.gif - I hope he does end up having a good career in seniors because I get the impression he'll be a fun player to follow!
