the odd thing was i was 99% sure boggo had beaten Devvy on a fast court at some point after that RG loss, but it must have been my imagination. perhaps Devvy lost in the rd b4 or something.
Alex said the balls are flying here, much lighter than Newport as its the Wilson USO ones, hopefully that will work in his favour as Devvy is a bit of a retriever right? so if its playing quick alex may have a better chance to hit through him?

Does Alex normally prefer faster courts/balls Count?

7.10 Special Exempts (SE) A. Eligibility Players may receive a special exempt into the main draw of the following week's tournament if they meet the criteria. 1) A player is eligible to receive a special exempt into the singles main draw of the following week's tournament, subject to the provisions of this section, if he is unable to compete in that qualifying competition because he is still competing on the date the qualifying competition begins in another qualified event, AND his current ranking as of the date of the entry deadline would not have otherwise qualified him as a direct acceptance on the original acceptance list if he had entered. In addition, a player who is still playing a match at 9 p.m. on Friday (the qualifying competition sign-in deadline) is eligible to receive a special exempt only if he wins that match.
Looks like Boggo won't be playing next week then regardless
Wishful tihnking im afraid, the Wildcard that Ward got is property of the LTA (Normally USTA but the previous deal means the LTA) if James chooses to give it up then the LTA could then choose another player to give it too, not Ward. After not choosing to play Davis Cup, i highly doubt Boggo would be at the top of the list.
True, but it could have been a good way for the LTA to try and mend some bridges with Alex though, if that is ever their intention.
Although i think its fairly obvious they are trying to make up to Ward for the Wimby snub (which he then made look so silly with his Eastbourne run, although to be fair even with that he's still some way off 250)
