Week 28 Futures - Great Britain F10($10k) - Frinton - Grass

SF: Dan Cox WR 787 v Colin Ebelthite (AUS) WR 568
SF: (3/WC) Josh Goodall WR 379 v (2) Vishnu Vardhan (IND) WR 376

They're both underdogs (rankings wise), so it will be good to get at least one in the final.

btw, Shhh's prediction of a Cox v Goodall final is still on.

Well done to the winners today

Good fight by Fitzy

While the players shouldn't be going on twitter etc criticising people for their opinions and I was surprised at how bad the behaviour was with respect to officials I also don't think it's fair to banter, incessantly, about alcohol. I can see how any player would be annoyed if a lack of professionalism if being laid against them.

Especially as all of these alcohol things are a little in the past now...isn't it time to stop going on about them?

Red Cabbage is bob on. It all springs from the idea of David Rice Number One = D.R.N.O. = DrNo.

Goodall seems to have the bit between his teeth at the moment. Good on him biggrin.gif

I think he's got this week sewn up

im sorry any player who reads this page thought we were being serious, it was just banter honest. I have no doubt that all our young players are hard working, teetotal professionals, which is a lot more than i could say for myself!

Remember when you were at school and young lads used to pick on girls they fancied, i think it was the only way of getting their attention.
Anyway, I think that's what Vandenburg is doing with Josh.

Expect to hear a message of undying love in the coming weeks.....you know where you heard it first!

I would think the point is that he actually hasn't done all that much of ^ recently. So its encouraging to see. I want the Josh who qualified for Flushing Meadows back - and I'm confident we'll see it in the next 12 months

I don't think anyone is getting excited about Josh's form over the last two weeks as frankly this what we should expect of him. It is however nice to see him playing better after a rotten first half of the year.

Goodall, Thornley, Vardhan and Strode all played three matches today and Goodall and Vardhan face the same possibility tomorrow as they are planning to play the doubles Semi Finals and Final.

Great for Goodall to have continued his good form from last week and he's getting back to the level that we know he is actually at.

Vardhan may be ranked higher than him, but Josh is a better player than him and would expect him to get the win tomorrow and reach the final.

Good to see Cox re-find some form and maybe it took dropping all the points from last year for him to remember how to play his best tennis. Already been one of his best weeks of the year and he's got a decent chance against Ebelthite, although the Aussie does look to be in some good form this week.

Contemplating going down to Frinton tomorrow as I have the whole day spare. Can't decide if a 350 mile round trip is worth it though.
