Confirmations of results Hoss has already given us + an upset win for Gabb smile.gif and a win for Thornley.

Richard Gabb has had some pretty decent results in some of the qualifying rounds of other Futures event, and in juniors without previously getting the point his play deserves. I thought he'd grab one here, and really pleased he has, but I suspect Meatball will be too strong for him in the next round.

Goodall's result very strange lol, good to see him take 12 games in a row, must have been playing very well!

That means Evo v Thornley & Gabb v Meatball in the top quarter, i.e .a guaranteed semi-finalist smile.gif

He obviously didn't take too kindly to losing the tie break

Richard has had a point from May 2009, but this was dropped a few weeks back.

Kyle Brassington managed a convincing win against a slightly higher-ranked Swede. 17 Brits have now played and no less than 11 have made it through biggrin - no results yet for Brits nos 18 & 19, Fitzy and Farq.

What a day! Go on Fitzy lad! Well done son. Let's hear all about it. What's a thousand ranking places really!

Well done to Farqs too - capitalising on his good form. (We need a nickname here)

This means we have the first 12 players on the drawsheet for the 2nd round (1 of the last 4). This means 3 quaters finalists, two semis and a finalist are in the bag already!

Anyway, great stuff overall  smile

Pity about poor Chris, and really hope it's nothing too serious.  He's still to pick up a grass court singles ranking point this year  disbelief.gif

Though, of course, did do rather well in the doubles with Inglot at Wimbledon.
