Kerr won the doubles here last year so perhaps he got a singles WC because of that.

Looks like Boggo is just going to have to wait until Kerr misses a few first serves in a row to get the break here.

Tougher than thought and arguably could have been a lot easier had he converted one of those 5 BP chances. At least he got the set and hopefully is now settled in. Boggo will serve first in set 2.

Good for Boggo to get the set having been in a little bit of danger when down a mini-break and then set point.

Hopefully that should be enough to win the match as Kerr probably won't want to waste too much energy trying to fight back.

Boggo will play Michael Kohlmann in round two if he wins, who beat Tatsuma Ito 6-4, 7-6(4).
