Bloomers will be the 1st Brit to play in the Newport main draw since Boggo in 2007 and, as far as I can tell, he is the 1st Brit to qualify there in the event's 35 year history! smile.gif

i'm not sure it does really. Blooms is a serve and volley player isnt he? so more suited to the type of play needed here. and its not like he smoked him, he had to come from a break down in the decider after all.

good result for rich tho, bout time something worked out for him you feel.

lost faith in newport, for so long it was home to average brits on the challanger tour who for just one tourny could believe they were atp level, was like jim will fix it of lee parmer n boggo.
