Well that was a bit disappointing from Boggo against a 36 year old Doubles specialist who hadn't beaten a top 200 player since October last year. Opportunity missed unfortunately
well that was very disapointing. i suspect boggo let himslef get too focused on the courts and let is effect his game. Obviously MK served well, but alex only converted 1 out of 11 BP's and i suspect he would have lost to bloomers given that showing, although at least he'd have had a shot at a LL spot.
on the face of it you wont get many easier routes into a ATP event (and decent Q slots too) maybe he was thinking of that as welll.
He's got to put that behind him swiftly now as he prepares for hard courts and Aptos challenger. He's got a lof of points to defened so will need to get a run going somwhere.

Kohlmann appears to have only played 3 singles matches this year ( and since October last year ) which I would suggest itself is a rather more relevant fact.
Lost to WR 755 in January. Beat WR 1346 and lost to WR 381 ( Sadecky of Switzerland ) in June ( on grass ). All these matches took 3 sets.
I take johnnylad's comments about no doubt being a good serve and volleyer and comments about the courts seeming not being too good, but definitely a match I'd have expected Boggo to win.
Good to see Bloomers getting 6 points for reaching the FQR, but disappointing Boggo not got the same and they meeting each other for a place in the MD and a guaranteed 12 points for the winner.
Bad loss for Boggo. Even if Kohlmann served big and volleyed well, it doesn't excuse getting broken twice by him and really struggling to win points on the first serve,
But great for Bloomers to get a win and this tournament will hopefully kick start his season. He has a shot at beating Kohlmann and qualifying here would be a great achievement, and then depending on the draw, could even win a round or two.
Just noticed that 4 seeds lost in QR1 here, the top 3 seeds lost in QR2 and (q5) Peya is the only seed left - he plays Okun in the battle of the Boggo-bashers in the FQR.
Something funny's going on here ...

and Peya got a w/o over Dimi to get there as well!
Here's me thinking "what was Dimi doing in Paris then?" re. Naomi Broady's "Broady Junior Won!!! Was Sooo Nervous Watchin On LiveScoring Wiv Dimitrov In Paris!" tweet last night ... then I realised you were talking about Tursunov. LOL
