I was wondering why we seemed to have regained a 51st player on the rankings when I hadn't expected anyone to join and finally worked out the addition was Andrew Gregory.
He was clearly born in AUS and used to play for them - indeed the last times he played outside AUS and the Far East were at the London Cumberland and Wrexham Futures as long ago as last September, where he lost in R1 to Dr No and the South African Andrew Anderson.
He is 20, ranked 820 with a career high of 732 on 10 May, which is around the last time he played a tournament.
The fact that there is evidence that he's now GBR on both ATP and ITF suggests to me that this isn't a mistake and that he's 'done a Konta' (or a Laura, or a Burnham Arlidge, though those two Aussie-borns became Brits at a much younger age) except that he's completed the change and Konta hasn't yet.
Does anyone know what's going on and why this has happened so quietly?

I've had confirmation by pm that this is a real change - in essence, he has a GB passport because his father was born in Scotland and he has decided to base himself in GB because he feels like he needs to play in Europe most of the year in order to really make progress.
I've therefore added him to the GB top 25 table properly and I'll add him to all the other GB stats tables before next week.
Moving to the other side of the world, he's taking a brave step in an attempt to take his career to the next level and I wish him all the best with it.
