There was the GEM Vending U14 Challenge Trophy or something like that on at the same time. I wonder how many match points were blown in total...

Should just be someone made 33rd seed and moved into Gulbis's position in the draw and a LL come into the space that that leaves.

Not quite sure who will be the 33rd seed since Wimbledon have their grass adjusment thingy to rankings points.

A LEM doesn't quite have the same ring to it... add ON to the end.

Latvian-food Eating Malinger (Or Not?) = LEMON

I amaze myself sometimes.

piragi eating malingerer (I'm guessing prgi are very similar to Polish pierogi - very nice but very hard work!)

I prefer LEMON though, it describes even an uninjured Gulbis perfectly! no

The consensus seems to be that it will be Petzschner who becomes no. 33 seed and moves into the LEMON's place, and it shouldn't be affected by the Wimbledon formula because these day's that's not used to pick who the seeds will be, just to set the order among the top 32. (I think it was changed to avoid the Spanish players in the top 32 who didn't get seeded for Wimbledon from revolting, though in many ways they still are wink)

Sorry, that's right Steven, I did know that but err forgot.

Was it  last year Haas was next in line when someone withdrew and was added as a seed  ?  I presume it was before the draw because they then applied the formula to him and from being unseeded he was suddenly something like 24th seed  smile

I know Nadal withdrew after the draw, which because of his high seeding required more shifting then will be required here.

That changes things a liot for me. At one point I had Gulbis to the SFs. I then woke up and slapped myself and had Rafa knocking him out but I'll need to submit a revised entry now.

Is the new draw on the entry form or have Wimbledon not announced it yet?

The changes are as suggested and are on the Wimbledon site,  http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/scores/draws/ms/r1s4.html   though names not changed on the pick'em entry form yet.

Petzshner is in Gulbis's place vs Robert.  So is he the man to take out Nadal in Round 3 ?   smile

LL Santiago Ventura takes Petzschner's place  vs  Karol Beck.

I was tempted to put "LEMON replacement" on the entry form but resisted!

I did looking up a few Latvian dishes, but it just wasn't as humorous! Borscht came up as one of the top dishes and we can't have that because borscht has to be for the Russians - BEM's and VDM's. Your one wouldn't work either since Spaniards are PEM's. I did read that Latvians favour a drink called kviss, so KDM.. but it's also a popular drink in Lithuania and Estonia and not really unique to Latvia.

With your approval then, steven - LEMON it shall be. biggrin

I usually keep an eye on live scores just after the entry closing time and note the time when the first significant event happens (usually the first break of serve in any match) so that if any entries arrive few minutes late but before anything significant has happened, we can accept them.

However, I'll be at Wimbledon tomorrow and Bethan will be at work and unable to check anything until until lunchtime, so would anyone who will be following livescores from the start tomorrow be able to volunteer to keep an eye on them and post the time when the first significant thing happens so we know what to accept when the final entries are being processed.

What would be even better is if someone able to ftp stuff to the site would be happy to upload the "entries have now closed" versions of pages once this happens - if you would be able to do this, please pm me your email address and I will send you the files.

Thanks!
