Wimbledon 2010 'Battle of the Boards' pick 'em contest

So what?

Who the hell is going to be pedantic over what was obviously a tiny accidental mistake and call someone out on it? Does it REALLY matter that much? I quoted for you so you could see where I was in a hurry to get back to watching the final when I made my original post and thus where that tiny mistake was made, is that a crime?

Never in my life have I seen a more boring player than Nadal.

Even Ivo ' the serve' Karlovic? I found him immensely dull to watch at Nottingham. Mum loved just staring at his legs, mainly cos they were still at eye level for her...

smile.gif Yeah. Sorry, I thought you were being ****ly pedantic. teamwork.gif

biggrin Steven owes me a punnet of strawberries, that "Rafa in three" prediction was right on the money.

On the question of that match being boring... I kinda thought the reason was because Berdych was being a muppet and rolling over. He needed to come out much stronger against Nadal than that, and didn't provide much of a challenge to Rafa. A closer competition with both players on searing form makes for a cracking match. shrug.gif Sometimes I get bored when Andy's playing if his opponent isn't pushing him enough to force him to produce the most stunning level of his tennis.

Hey, I can't lose a bet I haven't taken up. LOL I didn't re-read the thread until now, and would have gone for the same result anyway had I had to pick anything. Mos other people probably would have too, sadly.

You've been mighty grumpy about the finals this year! The women's final? Granted yes. But the men's final last year was WAY more boring than this year! Fed vs Roddick? blehblehbleh

biggrin Aww, shoot. Well, I figured that since you weren't here to put forwards a counter prediction that was your own fault, because I still put forwards my prediction and got it right! wink

I think we must have watched the two Finals in parallel universes ... (or rather, watched one and not watched the other, in my case!)

I still maintain that Fed vs Roddick was significantly more boring. Didn't you think so?

Ha ha.  I think Steven's opinion doesn't hugely count here having such preconceived notions and not watching the bloooming thing anyway this year   smile

I think the 2 finals were very different.  Neither were classics but both were certainly worth watching in my view, as is always one involving a great champion like Rafa.

LOL yes, I thought I'd better leave it to someone else to comment on LT's last post, having not even watched this year's Final.

Well, spending 5 hours watching the sweat drip from the peak of Andy Roddick's cap is not my idea of fun. *shudder*

Federer v Roddick certainly wasn't a particular advert for no tiebreaks in final set.

In my view, it gained nothing really from going on ( and on ), and might of from a dramatic final tiebreak.

Note ;  This post comes from an admitted advocate of tiebreaks in final sets  smile
