Girls: Gerry Weber Junior Open, Germany - Grade 2 (Week 24)

With Lucy Brown otherwise engaged in Roehampton and Laura Deigman a late withdrawal Daneika Borthwick is left as the only Brit in the main draw in Halle's grass court event. It's a much stronger event than the Grade 1 in Morocco on clay, with all the seeds here being top 40 (none in Morocco at this level)

R1 (L32)

(7) Andrea Gamiz (VEN) v Daneika Borthwick (GBR)

Daneika secures the best win of her junior career, albeit against a clay-court specialist

R1 (L32)

Daneika Borthwick (GBR) d. (7) Andrea Gamiz (VEN) 7-5 6-1

R2

Daneika Borthwick (GBR) v (WC) Derja Turhan (TUR)
