Yep, I too don't know what Dinara's done to deserve that comment
A very talented player who so often has suffered from nerves on the big occasion that it is has almost been cruel to watch at times and recently going through quite a hard time.
I hope in time she gets her full fitness and game back together and will be back challenging at the top of the game. The more top women players competing and competing at their best the better. Especially while Kim and Justin were out there seemed a real lack of general quality.
Yeh I quite agree. Seeing a top player pull out of an event is never nice, especially when they have faced a tough time at the hands of the media too.
Shes a nice woman, who works very hard and that has made her the role model of many players, including the likes of Cav who have said her work ethic is an inspiration.
Anyways, predictions for tommorow:
Jankovic to beat Laura 6-3 3-6 6-2 Mel 6-4 6-4 Bally 6-3 6-3 Bondarenko to beat Katie 6-4 6-1
Would love to be wrong about Laura and Katie, best of luck to all 4 women.
Bally in straights methinks. Laura takes Jankovic to 3 but... I want her to win but I'm going with Jankovic to win. Heather to win in 3. Katie out in straights. Mel out in 3. Anne to win in 3.
3 out of 6 isn't bad. I'll be satisfied with 2, delirious with 4.

Your second paragraph essentially sums up why I made the throwaway comment (but I should have added the word 'sadly'). The tail-end of her last grand slam match against Kimiko Date-Krumm at the French was horrific as she succumbed to her inner demons and I think it best at present for Dinara and Wimbledon not to have any more of that car-crash TV.
Though personally I often don't derive much enjoyment watching Dinara's matches, even when at her best, I do agree with your last paragraph.
Im not offended by your comment, just thought it was a bit cold. Its not as if BBC follow Safina religiously, one press of the red button and you would have 4 other matches at your fingertips to watch instead.
On the JJ v Laura match; Jankovic has actually only ever beaten one top 20 player; a waaaay below par Venus Williams back in 06. Her best ever win ranking wise was a very close fought affair against Safarova, then ranked 25, which she edged 5-7 7-6 6-2.
Jankovic has also not played a practise match since her comfortable loss at the French.
Not saying she isnt the heavy, odds on favourite here, but for some reason she doesnt enjoy the tournament and normally plays poorer than her ranking would suggest. I hope Laura can take advantage of that and do herself proud- and that the pressure doesnt get to her
