Nice first match for Bally, but the former finalist Bartoli should be too tough in R2. If she gets past that though her quarter of the draw is very, very inviting...
I would back an on form Mel to take her match, but I'm not sure she will.
Anne...I think she will take it to three but lose.
Very good draw for Heather and she has a decent chance of getting to the third round if she carries on her Eastbourne form.
I can't see Laura or Katie getting close to winning, I'm afraid.
Ok draws without being brilliant in the doubles, but we tradtionally struggle in this event so I don't expect much. Shame for Borops to get that draw, Sarah has had some vey tough draws in Slams.
I don't think Mel got quite a bad draw, tbh. Kulikova has some pedigree especially on the grass, the reason she isn't ranked higher is because she has got quite a few bad draws recently (e.g Sharapova at Strasbourg, Schiavone at the French Open) but she still took a set off both.
I saw her against Kleybanova here last year and she was very impressive.
I'm looking forward to the mixed partnerships. Any chance of Robson/Murray?

Interesting that in last years event, Bally lost to Flipkens and we were all shocked and suprised that Bally had wasted a good draw. This time, Flipkens is in the SF of the Dutch event with a good shot at the final.
Shows that Bally was actually playing well on grass last year too, even if this year has been more impressive.

And by coincidence, Flipkens was the only player who could still overtake Bally this week. She lost a very tight semi to Petkovic so Elena should be up to WR 52 on Monday, just 11 points off the top 50, but obviously with 100 Wimby points to defend.

According to several news reports Laura's match will be scheduled on centre court after Fed's match on Monday. Laura has withdrawn from the last day of matches in the MoCo cup which has been taking in Eastbourne.

Hope that turns out to be true!

Two seeds have withdrawn from the women's draw: Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (a lefty serve-volleyer who is a definite loss to the tournament) and Dinara Safina (who in my view err isn't).
The withdrawal of the former has potential significance for Brits. If Bally reaches the third round (a big if considering that Marion Bartoli blocks the way) then her prospective seeded opponent would now be the 34th seed Katerina Bondarenko, the Bondarenkos being a lucky charm for Bally in recent grand slams.
If MJMS also withdraws from the doubles then Sarah and Raquel would face different opposition rather than the second seeds.
Pretty good OoP actually for someone with a CC ticket wanting to watch all the Brits spread through the afternoon/evening (with luck the CC matches will finish quickest and Katie will end up there - though if Laura takes JJ to 3 long sets I won't be complaining!), though with only one Brit on at a time most of the time, I fear the outside courts they are on will be jammed to bursting!

Hopefully if MJMS withdraws from the doubles hopefully she does it late enough so they can't re-jig the draw and Borops will face lucky losers.
Harsh to say last years SF, former world number 1 & multiple GS finalist is no loss to the tournament, not quite sure how you determined that.
The OOP is great as far as Im concerned! CC, C1 & C2 all have a nice balance of great players. I do think to some degree Court 2 is the better value of all the courts. Clijsters, Hewitt and the newly crowned FO champion along with one of the games future stars should make for a great days viewing for a much cheaper price!
