RE: Week 24 - Wimbledon Qualifying

I saw Lisa against Peers, she was pretty impressive and I knew she had a chance.

I also saw Hlavackova at Sutton when she beat Heather. She played very well then too, she is very aggressive and looks to come forward too. However if you look at her results, she is so streaky and inconsistent so I hope she has one of those bad days!

Lisa first up on court 16 at usual time of 11. I'm gonna go tomorrow just a shame there aren't more Brits left to cheer on.

Naomi's result was very poor IMO.
I would have expected this scoreline against a top 30 player on a good day, not somebody ranked 140 playing their 'A' game. This is Naomi's best surface and she was playing at home. I would like to think she just had a very poor day at the office.
If Naomi is going to progress up the rankings she has to take a long hard look at herself, learn something from Bally and make the necessary adjustments. Otherwise her career is just going to stagnate at this level or may even go backwards.
This is not meant to be harsh just a realistic assessment.

Really makes me think Cav should have and will take a MD WC from now on. It seems a common misconception that Cavaday is greatly under ranked on the grass because she cant qualify off her own ranking.

A poster on TF did report that her opponent was playing really impressively though. Perhaps she was just on fire.

Pity, I did fear that Hlavachova would be rather too strong for Lisa, especially after reports of her match with Naomi.

But, you go Lisa, prove me wrong !
