Weird match but I'll take it. I've said this before and I'm sure I'll say it again but this is further proof that Heather is a quick learner. She has very quickly learnt how to be effective on this surface. She plays the winner of Mel/Jovanoski. Where Mel is starting to make a comeback 3-6 3-0*
Definitely. She seems to be developing very well. I will be going tomorrow because I enjoyed myself so much, I hope Heather is put on an outside court.

Heather Watson Won my second round of Qualifying here in Eastbourne 6-4 in the third set over Pironkova. Helped that I played her in Miami and learned from my loss there. Final round of Qualies tomorrow! Loving the grass!
She seems to really enjoy the challenge of different surfaces and players!

Excellent win for Heather. I didn't rate her chances having lost to Pironkova earlier in the year, and therefore holding no surprise factor. She responded very well to losing the first set as comfortably as she lost the previous one they played in Miami
Jos's style was never going to faze Sania, so her heavy defeat was expected, but Mel's loss is disappointing after the encouragement of yesterday

The Spanish-American veteran combination won the Warsaw Premier event, so it would be a major surprise if British interest in the doubles lasted longer than the first round

A very encouraging sign - the best players learn from their losses, and the fact that she has been able to do that against a top 100 player so early in her career bodes well
Exciting. Been ages since I saw a British woman on the TV rather than a stream dug out from some foreign sports site. I believe the last time must have been in Australia, Bally, and the time before that probably Wimbledon!

Unfortunately TV coverage starts on Tuesday. It's possible that Bally will be on centre then as she is playing a seed (and Edgbaston champion), but the schedulers will also have to find good courts for Clijsters, Wozniacki, Schiavone and Kuznetsova (plus ATP matches) so there's no guarantee.
Very impressive so far, my only slight concern over the validity of this performance is that her opponent is very close to direct acceptance/qualifying cutoff for Wimby. So may be not giving her all as Wimby qualies start tomorrow.
