I dont think she actually hates the grass. probably just annoyed at herself during that one match. with her movement, i think it will be a good surface for her in the future

I wasn't saying that she was a terrible grasscourter or something, just that she had problems with her timing on the grass. Could just be that she still hasn't quite adjusted to it/needs to play more on grass as timing is usually one of her strengths.

^^thanks for the reports. you said "more on that later" with regards to the ballboys. what did you mean?
And they were just really bad. They kept on dropping balls, forgetting to pick up balls, they were slow, kept on putting the wrong scores on the scoreboard etc. The umpires kept on having to stop the players in the middle of their service motions to tell the ballboys to do something. This was happening on almost every court as well. Here's a link to the full report: http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=411813
Heather lost the first set 2-6. She really needs to hold onto her serve because Pironkova is serving at 90% and I saw her vs Henin at Roland Garros a couple of weeks ago and she was serving most of her serves at 190kmh+. Come on Heather!

2-6 *4-1. Heather seemingly dealing better with the Pironkova serve and holding pretty easily. I really hope she can break again in this next game for insurance.

Weird match but I'll take it. I've said this before and I'm sure I'll say it again but this is further proof that Heather is a quick learner. She has very quickly learnt how to be effective on this surface. She plays the winner of Mel/Jovanoski. Where Mel is starting to make a comeback 3-6 3-0*
Mel's loss means she drops behind Laura in the GB rankings next week.
Heather will be up to around #326 - #313 with another win tomorrow. And if she does, then there is 50% chance of the QvQ spot in the main draw offering 60 points to the winner. That would bring her up to around #250.
