also, the aggressive and sometimes serve-volleying dustin brown plays nothing like the uber-defensive monfils. i bet roger rasheed (gael's coach) would give his left arm were his charge to play with even twenty percent of the forward-mindedness that dustin does.
i'd love for him to play for dc. it sounds like a perfect trade to me: gb looking for a #2 who isn't boggo, and brown is a boggo-like player (see above comparisons) who can't play dc. everybody wins!
Not quite as funny as the correction efforts on one forum a friend told me about. Upon one forum member confusing a guerilla with the spelling of gorilla, another forum member merely posted two pictures captioned by the correct word.

Well well, this could go ahead! I think it would be great for us. DC could gain an extra element of interest if it turns out to be his first time playing for us and gets to lead the team out. Brown needs to pin down that British connection quickly though.

Watched him at the Boodles exhibition on live stream, I think it was Robredo he played and I was really impressed. He is very much a 'blag it as I go along' looking player with some of the crazy slices and shots he was whacking out looking extremely unconventional yet incredibly effective.
I fancy him to sneak a set or two in R1 actually, very nasty slicing shots that I can imagine troubling any player on grass. I wish him well whether he is Jamaican or British, seems like a nice genuine player just trying to better his career.
Tbh though his long dreads made it clear he was happy to march to the beat of his own drum and his unique shots backed that up. It all makes me think should he get the go ahead, he wont think twice about choosing the option that would support him best, if, as he indicates, he does feel British and it therefore wont feel weirdly fake having GBR by his name.

I saw Dustin at Wimbledon yesterday, playing Melzer. He was great fun. The crowd loved him. As he lost 3 sets to 1, everyone was shouting "DUSTIN, DUSTIN DUSTIN!!" as they left the court.
He played some amazing shots, and his serve was so varied. He's just a bit too carefree and makes too many mistakes, but that's what made him so much fun. He's won the crowd over big time.
I not sure about the suddenly becoming British thing, but I'm certainly a Dustin fan now - British or not.

Thats great to hear, Im a big fan to and will certainly follow his progress in the coming months! Thanks for the report, the mail actually mentions that he is very quirky in the way he wears orange and green fluoresent laces that he was given at a tournament when he turned up without any laces (interesting approach!)
I read that Dustin's disillusionment with the Jamiacan Tennis Federation has not exactly been helped by it's president sending him an email congratulating him on his wild-card entry to Wimbledon.
Given all the progress he has made so that he was in fact a direct enry he was ever so slightly dischuffed !
Why do we want a guy who's heart is clearly with Jamaica, then probably next with Germany and the only reason he want's to play for GB is for financial reasons. The LTA haven't even contacted yet so it just shows what they think of the situation.
Well Leon Smith is going to speak to him sometime this week, so thats a lie
I'm just repeating what Dustin said in his post match presser. No harm in at least discussing the situation, but I still think it would be a bad move. The press would have a field day if it came to fruition.

Well if they think that's true I guess that's one thing that may put the LTA off since they do generally in my view seem to take an inordinate consideration of what some of the press say or might say
