A little bit disappointed that Jamie couldn't finish the match off as going into the 3rd set he looked the better player and was convinced he would get the win.
Dolgopolov has the potential to be a handy grass court player as he has a big serve and hits the ball quite hard, but also has this strange looking backhand slice which loops up very high and caused Baker a few problems in the first set, but he stopped playing it after that.
Baker should really have broken at 0-40 in the final set but missed two of three returns and the one he got in was just pushed in the middle of the court, and then he played a poor game afterwards to get broken straight away. And then he seemed to just fall apart and tried to hit the ball as hard as possible rather than trying to get back into the match.
Flemski looked good although they were perhaps a bit lucky to win the match. Second set they were second best all the way through and had to save a couple of sets points at 4-5, which they did with massive serves.
Went *3-0 down in the tiebreak as well before they upped their returning game and got the minibreaks back, and then had two points in a row where they got a deadnet cord to give them the point. On the first match Knowle hit a lob that hit the very edge of the line which Fleming could only hit wide, but Skupski hit a great return on the second match point before putting the forehand away.
They should win their next match quite easily whoever they play.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, if Delgo & Dom can somehow find a way past Benneteau & Llodra in the first round of the doubles (a big "if", I know), they will not have to tackle the top seeds, Kubot & Marach (POL/AUT), in the QF, but the Brazilians, Marcelo Melo & Bruno Soares, who've just stuffed them by 1 & 3...
