when was the last time a brit beat these damm poles

As far as I can see, Muzza bros  4 - 6  6 -2  ( 11 - 9 )   in January 2007, Doha quarter finals.

Strangely enough, the last Brits to beat one of them (Fyrstenberg on a rare occasion when he played with Kubot) were Bloomers & Marray, Wimbledon 2007. They've gone on a 10-match Brit-bashing streak since then, including the DC tie against Poland when it was a pity Flemski weren't playing as the doubles pair.

Ward vs Dolgopolov Jr on right now on Eurosport!

Olek took the first set 6-3, we're at 3-3 in the second set and Olek has a break point on Ward's serve. He converts. 4-3 to Olek in the second set. Olek serving nicely, a very fast service motion there. He holds with an ace in there and is at 5-3 now.

Ward punts it long. Ward serves and volleys and returns an attempted lob to win a point. Masterful drop shot from Ward. Another drop shot but it fails to get over the net. Ward holds on.

Olek has to serve it out. Starts with an ace. And another. Geez... such a fast service motion! Another ace. And a fourth! Game set match. 6-3 6-4.
