Probably his best win right there, 6-3, 7-6(5) against the WR 72 and didn't even face a BP. I hope the media pick up on this and give the LTA and Wimbledon a slating. Clearly on this form James could easily win a match at Wimbledon with a good draw.
Next up will be Dolgopolov (7) WR 47 who saw Lu off 6-7(1), 6-1, 6-2. Hardly an impossible match based on how Ward has been playing. Jamie Baker also pushed Dolgopolov to 3 sets in the first round and, for me anyway, James is far superior on this surface to Jamie.
Better result that yesterday as Schuettler definately was trying to win the match and massive for James to beat him and get to the QF's.
Did very well to keep his composure having not taken his match points at 4-5 and eventually held his nerve in the tiebreak to get a great win for him.
Got a chance against Dolgopolov who is not that great on a grass court and possibly should have lost to Baker in round one, and Ward is a better grass courter than Baker. If Ward plays as aggressively as he did today then he should be able to pick off the slice shots that Dolgopolov uses, although he does have a much better serve than Schuettler.
Having beaten Lopez and Schuettler back to back, two men who have been Wimbledon QF (and SF's) in the past, Ward is in great form going into Wimbledon. Just a shame that he doesn't actually have a wild card and they gave three of them away. Perhaps if there had been three other players that we deemed worthy of a wild card then you could just about understand him not having one, but because they just gave them away, it is a terrible decision.
Does anyone know the last British man (with the exceptions of Andy, Tim and Greg) to win back to back matches against 2 players ranked inside the top 100?

Probably Flan the man beating Flipper (WR 17) and Hanescu (WR 35) at Queen's in 2004. He didn't get to play at Wimbledon either, but Wardy has done a lot more in the rest of the year than Flan ever did, as evidenced by the fact that Flan was ranked 866 at the time! He was out with glandular fever for a while early in his career too.
