Ridiculous that Evans is having to play in this and may end up not getting a wild card even for qualifying, especially after the weekend he had at Queens where he looked in the best form he has been in for a while.
Quite a lot of players here have a good shot of winning this with Evo, Milton, Cox, Slabba, Willis and Bloomers all very adept on the grass and have all done well in Wimbledon qualifying in the past, so going to be some very disappointed players (who they may have to give a Eastbourne WC to out of necessity... I think Baker will defo get one, but who knows who gets the other two).
The Evo appearance here and exclusion from an automatic qualfying WC must surely be for non-tennis results related reasons, and indeed the LTA have said in the past other things will be considered.
So one must assume they see he has failed in their eyes in such as conduct or application to training.
My own view is it should take a hell of a failing otherwise to knock Evo down behind all those folk that have got qualifying WCs, your Phillips and Rice for instance.
My fear is they maybe just simply don't like how he goes about things at times.
In any event, he was deemed worthy of competing for GB in the Davis Cup in March, I highly doubt that other things have gone so awry since then

Cool. Not a great start for Dan tho. Not a great R1 draw, in fact, tho Meatball lost to Cox at Queen's and no. 2 seed Milton probably has an even worse draw.
