Disappointing loss for James as it was a match that he could have won given that Ginepri didn't look that impressive, and he had a break's lead in the second set which he should have held on to.
Not sure whether he's done enough for a Wimbledon WC either given his ranking of around 350, but his performance was better than Baker's and he showed that if he did draw a very weak opponent, he could get a win.
Yes, you're probably right FD unless the Turkish No 2 displays an unexpected aptitude for grass.
Still, grass struck me as the convenience choice rather than the safest, least problematic ( as far as the DC tie goes ) choice.

The Turkish number two has never played on grass and hasn't won a match this year.
The Turkish number three has never played on grass and his two wins this year were against unranked players.
The Turkish number four has never played on grass and has only beaten one ranked player this year.
None of them have played a tournament outside of Turkey since 2008.
None of this suggests that any of them have some kind of hidden grass court talent that we don't know about, or are dramatically underranked, or should pose a problem for pretty much all of the GB top 25.
